So it can move in with you, move out with you, and stay with you for years.

As a student I have found myself apprehensive to investments in my home as they are often not ideal to move around with me. I built this lamp to be able to outlast my frequent relocation and remain renter friendly without requiring hardwiring.

Each embroidered symbol on the lamp shade was taken from or inspired by symbols cataloged in Henry Dreyfuss’s Symbol Sourcebook of historical graphics. Each symbol is in some way relevant to the creation, existence, or form of this lamp.
